Information Systems and Computing (ISC) provides information technology (IT) infrastructure, leadership, systems, and services that enable research, instruction, and administration for the University’s students, faculty, and staff. Key ISC systems and services include: voice, video, and data networks; global Internet connectivity; collaboration technologies, including the PennWeb server, e-mail and online directories. Student systems and the core administrative systems and data stores to enable effective business processes and service delivery are also provided as are the security services and training that protect Penn’s information assets and limit institutional liability.

Vice President Robin Beck

Robin Beck is the Vice President for Information Systems and Computing (ISC) at the University of Pennsylvania. The 300 + people in ISC plan for, acquire, develop, and support core infrastructure and enterprise-wide products and services for faculty, students and staff to further the education, research and administrative activities of Penn. As Vice President for ISC, Robin guides the evolution, integration and effective use of computing and resources throughout Penn. She has overall responsibility for the consultative and operating committees that shape priorities to meet the ever-increasing demand for information technology and advises the Provost and Executive Vice President on issues involving IT.

Previously employed for 18 years by the General Electric Company, she has extensive training and experience in project management, business process design, organizational design, and technological innovation.

Ms. Beck holds a M.S. Industrial Administration, Krannert School, Purdue University, and a B.A. from Seton Hill University. She is a frequent presenter to a variety of national and international higher education organizations on information technology.
