Public Eduction

Penn contributes significantly towards enhancing the education of West Philadelphians in public schools including the development of the Penn Alexander School. This K-8 school is recognized as an international model for how a university can partner with a school district, teacher’s union, and community leaders to build and support a neighborhood school. Penn also supports local public schools via the University Assisted Public School strategy led by the Netter Center for Community Partnership, which leverages vast resources from within Penn to help educate, engage, empower, and serve students and families enrolled in traditional public schools.
